Lake City Heat Treating (LCHT) of Warsaw, Ind., added a new vacuum furnace, bringing its vacuum heat-treating line to seven. The new furnace features 6-bar capabilities with a variable-speed, 200-hp cooling blower. It can achieve process temperatures up to 2400°F (1315°C) with a workload size up to 24 x 24 x 36 inches. The furnace gives LCHT the ability to offer nitrogen and argon quench as well as process customer requirements to exact specifications.
