Shiloh Industries Inc. announced plans to open a new aluminum casting plant in Nantong, China, in a joint venture with Suzhou Sanji Foundry Equipment Co. Ltd. The plant will manufacture the company’s family of aluminum CastLight™ products, utilizing Shiloh’s high-pressure die casting and proprietary squeeze casting expertise. The facility, which is expected to open in mid-2016 and employ approximately 130 workers at capacity, will also include heat-treating and machining operations.
The $30 million greenfield project will support Shiloh’s continued global expansion of its leading and proprietary lightweighting technologies, and it will be located 45 miles from Shiloh’s upcoming China Technical Center in Shanghai. Valley City, Ohio-based Shiloh is the majority shareholder in the joint venture with 55% equity. Sanji is a leading casting equipment manufacturer.
