Grede plans to invest more than $20 million and hire more than 35 new employees over the next three years at its Biscoe, N.C., facility to support its commercial vehicle business. The investment will be used for heat treatment and machining services as well as the addition of 26,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The project will also include three new molding machines and handling systems and an environmentally friendly immersion coating system.
The addition of value-added services like heat treatment and machining offer increased options for customers. Grede will also increase its engineering capabilities. Services such as engineering support for planned projects and 3D prototype printing will help meet customer needs. The Louisville, Ky.-based company supplies suspension, engine and driveline components for class 3-8 commercial vehicles.
