ALD Dynatech installed a high-vacuum hardening furnace with high-pressure gas quenching system at FTA’s (Fastener Technology Aviation) manufacturing plant in Izmir, Turkey. The multi-purpose, environmentally friendly furnace is ideally suited for hardening and brazing applications under an oxygen-free environment. Depending on part geometry, quench pressure can be adjusted from gentle cooling to high-pressure gas quenching up to 6 bar. With auxiliary equipment installed, the furnace can be used for annealing, stress relieving, tempering and normalizing.

 The furnace has an effective hot-zone size of 350 x 250 x 450 mm (14 x 10 x 18 inches) with a load capacity of 100 kg (200 pounds). Treated parts are heated very homogeneously in a temperature range between 150°C (300°F) and 1315°C (2400°F) and under a vacuum level of 10^-5 torr. With an advanced PLC/HMI control system, the furnace complies with Nadcap requirements.
