IMS partnered with ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco to develop a flatness measurement and control system for cut-to-length and multi-blank operations. The Level Vision™ system optimizes material flatness quality with limited operator involvement by using IMS optical technology in combination with closed-loop levelers control technology developed by ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco. Combining the two technologies allows the leveler to automatically adjust to address residual shape defects. Available for retrofits and new installations, Level Vision’s key features include correcting and quantifying flatness defects in ferrous and nonferrous flat-rolled strip independent of finishes and line speed.

Germany’s IMS is a leading manufacturer of X-ray, isotope and optical measuring systems for service centers and cold and hot mills. Callery, Pa.-based ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco is a leading supplier of coil processing solutions, including tension leveling, slitting, cut-to-length, multi-blanking, precision roller leveling, enhanced leveling technology and high-strength slitting technology.
