Canadian auto-parts supplier Linamar Gear of Guelph, Ontario, expanded its manufacturing capacity with the addition of a new AFC-Holcroft UBQ (universal batch quench) furnace facility. This order represents the 26th and 27th UBQ furnace at this site, making it one of the largest batch integral-quench installations in the world. The newest heat-treatment facility consists of two gas-fired UBQ furnaces sized 36 x 48 x 36 inches with top cool, along with two UBT (universal batch temper) furnaces. All are served by a new spray/dunk washer and transfer car. Installation of the facility is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015.
