J.L. Becker, a Gasbarre Furnace Group Company, installed two similar furnace systems for a domestic alloy manufacturer. The first was a retrofit of an existing 6-foot x 32-foot x 3-foot car-bottom furnace with a complete insulation reline, upgraded pulse-fired combustion system with self-recuperative burners and upgraded furnace controls with data logging. The second was a new 55,000-pound 6-foot x 32-foot x 3-foot car-bottom furnace with duplicate combustion and control systems. Operating temperatures for both furnaces range from 900-2000°F (482-1093°C), and both units comply with AMS-2750E specifications.
