AFC-Holcroft will deliver a universal batch quench (UBQ) furnace to Modern Heat Treat, a commercial heat-treating operation in Richland Hills, Texas. This addition brings the number of AFC-Holcroft UBQ furnaces to seven at Modern Heat Treat, which has systematically added one furnace per year for the past four years in a row. This furnace will further boost Modern Heat Treat’s production capability by another 6,000 pounds gross load capacity and will be a duplicate of existing AFC-Holcroft furnaces already running production. The furnace, sized 36 inches x 72 inches x 44 inches, is scheduled to ship by the end of the year.

Modern Heat Treat selected the UBQ design to gain maximum flexibility in controlling their production. As production increased, the heat treater has benefited from the modular, flexible UBQ design to add new equipment to their facility incrementally, creating full production cells that utilize existing controls. Individual furnaces can be idled then restarted easily as needed for maintenance service and changes in process or production.
