Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for October 2014 showed growth for only the third time so far in 2014. All four indices, which increased from last month, were over 50 for the first time since May. The change in the number of request for quotes was over 55 for just the fourth time in two years. October 2014’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their September 2014 business levels to their August 2014 levels. October 2014’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from August to Sept. – 55.5
- Change in number of orders from August to Sept. – 52.3
- Change in backlog from August to Sept. – 53.2
- Expected change in the health of the industry through Oct. – 53.2
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in November 2014’s Industrial Heating.
