Wyman-Gordon will establish a new manufacturing operation in Dillon County, S.C. The investment is expected to create more than 400 new jobs over the next five years. The facility will house multiple post-forging operations ranging from heat treating to machining in an effort to deliver a more streamlined process with an improved level of customer service. Construction of the new plant, which is expected to serve customers in the aerospace and power-generation end markets, will begin by the end of the year with production anticipated in late 2015. Wyman-Gordon, a manufacturer of large titanium and superalloy forgings, was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. in 1999.
