Edwards partnered with two major steel contractors to supply dry-pumping vacuum technology for vacuum degassing (VD). Edwards is in the process of commissioning the two orders for standard steel degassing modules, which will enable the end users to produce high-quality steel using the VD process. Both sets of modules are capable of degassing 200-metric-ton batches of liquid steel. One set of modules will be installed in the largest steel plant in the Czech Republic, and the second order is for a modern steel plant in the Middle East. Edwards currently has hundreds of pump combinations running in more than 45 steel degassing plants worldwide.
