Houston, Texas-based Axis Pipe and Tube ordered a heat-treatment facility and pipe-threading line from Germany’s SMS Meer for its Bryan works. Axis Pipe and Tube produces OCTG (oil-country tubular goods) tubes for natural gas and crude-oil production. The heat-treatment line includes a hardening and tempering furnace, a water-quenching unit and a hot straightener. The company will use the line to produce tube grades of up to HCP110. The pipe-threading line features two threading machines that operate on the principle of stationary tool and rotating tube.
