Ambrell sold an EKOHEAT 15-kW/100-kHz induction heating system to a supplier of automotive automation solutions. The client will use the EKOHEAT in a system that hardens the teeth of starter ring gears. The starter ring gear transfers torque from the starter motor pinion to the flywheel, which rotates the engine so it begins to cycle. The induction heating system provides rapid, efficient, repeatable heating and can heat parts of varying sizes and geometries.
