Ipsen U’s first class of the year, in February, graduated the 16 attendees who completed the course. Students came from Alabama, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Wisconsin, as well as Poland and Japan. Ipsen U is a practical course for building and refreshing thermal-processing equipment knowledge. It addresses all levels of experience in an open-forum environment that encourages attendees to ask questions about specific equipment and processes. The class follows a modular format, which allows participants to interact with Ipsen experts and have their specific questions answered. Topics included introductions to vacuum furnaces, heat treating, units of measure, furnace components and subsystems, leak detection and maintenance.
