Nutec Bickley received an order from a leading North American railcar fabricator for the supply and installation of a car-bottom furnace designed to perform post-welding heat treatment (PWHT). Internal dimensions of the furnace are 70 feet long x 12 feet wide x 15 feet high. It will be fired with a 16-mmBTU state-of-the-art pulse-firing combustion system, which is combined with a low thermal-mass car-deck design to achieve the best energy consumption possible. The furnace also includes Nutec Bickley’s “Jumbo” modules ceramic-fiber insulation, which is proven to be one of the most reliable in the industry.
