Yokogawa Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer in the fields of measurement, control and automation, is expanding its North American presence in direct response to increased demand for its product, solution and service offerings. In addition to expanding its facility in Newnan, Ga., the company expects to increase its full-time North American headcount to more than 1,000 by 2015. According to Yokogawa, the current economic growth directly and indirectly related to shale energy and unconventional oil and gas, with the accompanying growth of downstream chemical investment, has fueled the increased demand. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Jan. 22 at the site of the facility expansion in Newnan, which is just south of Atlanta.
