Polish aircraft engine and gear transmission manufacturer WSK “PZL- Kalisz” started production on its new NXK-609 nitriding system, which was supplied by Nitrex Metal. The self-contained turnkey system is being used to nitride gears and housings supplied to several leading aerospace firms around the world. Nitriding with Nitreg® technology meets the company’s requirement for precise control of the white-layer thickness, including zero white layer, on Nitralloy parts. The NXK system design will also enable WSK “PZL- Kalisz” to add Nitreg®-C ferritic nitrocarburizing at a later date.
