ArcelorMittal will reopen ArcelorMittal Harriman, a long-product finishing facility in Harriman, Tenn. The company plans to hire 61 new employees over the next two years, with a goal of being fully operational by April 2014. The plant receives billets from ArcelorMittal LaPlace (Louisiana), reheats them and rolls them into light structural shapes and merchant bars for the construction market. ArcelorMittal Harriman, which closed in 2011 due to market conditions, will produce 1- to 3-inch angles and 1- to 4-inch flats, enhancing the company’s long-product portfolio.
