Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for September 2013 showed a slight overall decline from August. Three indices fell from last month, with just one (change in the number of request for quotes) showing growth. The change in the number of RFQs (50.7) was the lone increase from August. September 2013’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their August 2013 business levels to their July 2013 levels. September 2013’s index numbers:
- Change in number of request for quotes from July to August – 50.7
- Change in number of orders from July to August – 49.4
- Change in backlog from July to August – 46.5
- Expected change in the health of the industry through September – 49.0
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in October 2013’s Industrial Heating.
