Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum won several vacuum-system orders globally from the metal-treatment industry. The company received an order for vacuum pumping systems from a Pittsburgh-based OEM specializing in vacuum degassing of steel. The order comprises three pump-system modules consisting of staged WH RUVAC series vacuum boosters and DRYVAC dry-compression vacuum pumps. Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum also received an order for vacuum boosters and oil-vapor boosters in support of VIM- and VAR-type furnaces from a New Jersey-based OEM specializing in advanced vacuum and controlled-atmosphere furnaces for the processing of metals. The company will also deliver a vacuum system for a steel degassing system at Jailaxmi Steel in India.

In other Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum news, the company opened a new office in Jundiai/Sao Paulo, Brazil, to meet customer demand. The new site will operate as a local sales and full equipped service center. It will have an optimized stock to diminish lead times and will also allow for special contractual after-sale service. The new workshop will provide enough space to assemble single vacuum components to complex vacuum solutions.
