Innovative Mechanical Solutions Ltd. and Leading Edge Heat Treatment Ltd. (collectively, iMech) merged into H-D Advanced Manufacturing Co. H-D was formed in December 2012 by a partnership among The Riverside Company, Hicks Equity Partners (HEP) and Weinberg Capital Group to invest in manufacturers of heavy-duty, precision-engineered parts. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, iMech engineers, designs and manufactures custom bearings for the directional-drilling motor industry. The company operates a manufacturing and heat-treatment plant in Edmonton and has a warehouse and distribution center in Houston, Texas.

iMech custom-designs its thrust-bearing assemblies. As a result, its customer base includes some of the world's leading diversified oilfield service companies and directional-drilling companies. iMech will be operated as an independent division within H-D, whose second division is Overton Chicago Gear Corp., a manufacturer of large, high-precision gears and gearboxes.
