SECO/WARWICK Corp. received an order for a 10-bar vacuum hardening furnace cell from Exco Extrusion Dies. SECO/WARWICK Group will also provide a pair of nitrogen tempering furnaces, load cart and installation services. The furnace cell is designed for hardening and tempering aluminum dies at Exco’s new plant in Brazil, which is scheduled to open in early 2014. Equipment installation is scheduled for the same time frame. Exco is a leading worldwide provider of aluminum extrusion dies.
In other news, SECO/WARWICK delivered a 12-bar universal HPQ (high-pressure quench) vacuum furnace to IBC Coating Technologies in Lebanon, Ind. This furnace with high-temperature convection heating will be used for hardening and carburizing bearing steel and aerospace components. The furnace is designed with a maximum temperature rating of 2400°F and a 1,300-pound gross load capacity. IBC purchased another vacuum furnace from SECO/WARWICK in April of this year.
