StrikoWestofen recently supplied a tilting aluminum melting and holding furnace, StrikoMelter MH II type, to Polish foundry Lenaal. The technology was developed in Gummersbach, Germany, while production and delivery went through StrikoWestofen’s factory in Strzelce Opolskie, Poland. The furnace replaced two crucible melting furnaces that consumed almost twice the amount of gas as the StrikoMelter. Thanks to the lower gas consumption, Lenaal’s investment will pay for itself after about two years of operation. Further savings result from the improved material efficiency of up to 99.7% and considerably extended maintenance intervals with short downtimes. Lenaal manufactures die-cast aluminum components for the automotive industry.
