Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for May 2013 failed to show growth for the second month in a row. Three of four indices, however, improved from April. The change in the number of orders was at its highest level in three months. May 2013’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their April 2013 business levels to their March 2013 levels. May’s numbers:

  • Change in number of request for quotes from March to April – 49.0
  • Change in number of orders from March to April – 49.2
  • Change in backlog from March to April – 46.0
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through May – 45.6

May 2013’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their April 2013 business levels to their March 2013 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
