Element Materials Technology acquired Sherry Laboratories, one of the largest independent materials testing businesses in the U.S. This transaction will add nearly 300 specialized staff and 10 facilities to Element’s network of 30 laboratories, making it America’s largest dedicated materials testing company. Sherry, headquartered in Daleville, Ind., provides a broad range of testing services to over 6,000 clients in the aerospace, defense, oil & gas, transportation and power-generation industries. The acquisition of Sherry follows a number of other acquisitions by Element over the last 15 months, including MAR-TEST of Cincinnati, Ohio; Detroit Testing Laboratories of Warren, Mich.; and U.K.-based polymer engineering and testing specialist MERL.
