Alfe Heat Treating closed a deal with a major automotive manufacturer to heat treat V6 engines at its Saginaw operations plant. The long-term project will start in late 2014 utilizing the existing facility and equipment. The company plans to increase its workforce to meet the needs in the fall of 2014 as it prepares to increase capacity for the new engine.
In other news, Alfe Heat Treating’s Charlotte ferrous heat-treating plant achieved TS16949 Certification, allowing it to be a direct, tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. The plant has operated under ISO 9001:2008, which is general industry certification. The new level ensures documentation and administrative processes are up to automotive standards.
