High Temp Furnaces Ltd. of Bangalore, India, under license from AFC-Holcroft, recently shipped a new-design CAAB® furnace to one of the largest radiator manufacturers in India. The CAAB (controlled atmosphere aluminum brazing) furnace minimizes the electric-power requirements during the brazing process. Preliminary calculations show the furnace is capable of significantly reducing electric-power consumption compared to traditional CAAB design. According to AFC-Holcroft, the new furnace design is most attractive to large OEM manufacturers of heat exchangers because it minimizes the brazing cost and carbon-footprint impact on the environment.
