Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for February 2013 increased dramatically from January’s numbers. All four indices experienced an increase, and three were over 50, showing growth. The change in the number of request for quotes was at its highest level since April 2012 and experienced the biggest increase, going from 42.5 last month to 56.5 this month. The expected change in the health of the industry was at its highest level since May 2012. February’s numbers:

  • Change in number of request for quotes from Dec. to Jan. – 56.5
  • Change in number of orders from Dec. to Jan. – 51.2
  • Change in backlog from Dec. to Jan. – 47.9
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through Feb. – 52.5

February 2013’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their January 2013 business levels to their December 2012 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
