Alcoil, a leading manufacturer of Microchannel HVAC/R coils, added a state-of-the-art controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB) furnace to its York, Pa., manufacturing facility that is expected to significantly increase manufacturing capabilities. The new furnace is designed to handle small production runs (one to 10 heat exchangers) as well as high-volume production runs (more than100 heat exchangers per shift). The CAB furnace uses an indexing grid 138 inches x 64 inches for large coils up to 40 tons, making low-volume and high-volume production possible for custom coils. The furnace also has precision temperature control and a vacuum purge system for nitrogen atmosphere control, which improves aluminum brazing quality.
