Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced that Olympic Steel Inc. will expand its steel processing facility in Franklin County, creating at least 90 new manufacturing jobs. Olympic Steel considered expanding operations at its similar U.S. steel processing facilities, including two in Ohio. The company ultimately selected its Chambersburg plant to better serve the company's East Coast customers. Olympic Steel will create 90 new jobs within three years and invest $11 million to purchase new equipment and provide training to its new employees. Olympic Steel is a leading U.S. metals service center focused on the direct sale and distribution of large volumes of processed carbon, coated and stainless flat-rolled sheet, coil and plate steel and aluminum products.
