Industrial Heating'smonthly economic indicators for June 2012 showed growth in three of four indices. The change in the number of request for quotes, which increased from May, along with the change in the number of orders and the expected change in the health of the industry were all over 50. The change in backlog, however, fell under 50 (49.4) for the first time since January 2012. June 2012’s numbers:

  • Change in backlog from April to May – 49.4
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through June – 50.6
June 2012’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their May 2012 business levels to their April 2012 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
