Ipsen shipped a vacuum oil-quench (VOQ) furnace to an aerospace manufacturer in the Pacific Rim. The furnace will be used to heat treat airframe and landing-gear components for medium to large civilian aircraft. This VOQ furnace has a load size of 36 inches wide x 36 inches high x 48 inches deep with a gross load weight capacity of 2,200 pounds, temperature uniformity of +/-10ºF, maximum operating temperature of 2200ºF and 180ºF quench-oil capability. This unit also employs an internal workload transfer system with a 15-second transfer from the hot zone to the quench zone. The 4,000-gallon oil-quench chamber includes agitation, directional-flow baffles and electric heat.
