Praxair Mexico, a subsidiary of Praxair Inc., signed a contract with Deacero, a leading Mexican steel company, to supply oxygen, argon and nitrogen to a new plant being built in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, a major industrial region in north Mexico. Praxair will build, own and operate a new state-of-the-art and energy-efficient cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) with a capacity of 500 tons per day. The new ASU is expected to start up in the first quarter of 2014. The steel plant will produce 1.5 million tons of steel per year.
