Bogh Industries delivered two 10-GPM polyalkylene glycol (PAG) heat-separator machines. One was delivered to an aerospace parts manufacturer and the other to a large military retrofit facility. The heat separator in the aerospace facility supports a drop-bottom furnace for solution heat treat of aluminum alloys. It reclaims PAG from the rinse water and quench tank at a rate of 10 GPM, and it automatically separates solutions from 4-35% into a 65% PAG stream and water. The machine for the large military retrofit facility replaced an older model. It is fully automatic with no operator interventions other than starting the separation cycle from the operator interface screen on the main control panel. The new unit separates the PAG within two to three minutes after separation cycle initiation.
