The $85 million facility plans to employ 175 people and will have the capacity to cast and machine large components for the wind-turbine market. Nadicom plans to begin operations by 2013. According to Nadicom, Iowa City provided a central location, complete with rail and other logistical considerations, and access to a world-class workforce. Iowa is the nation’s second-largest producer of wind energy behind only Texas.
