USS Tubular Products assumed operation of the McKeesport (Pa.) National Works site on May 1, 2011. The electric resistance weld mill has a storied past, beginning as the National Tube Works in 1872. It became U.S. Steel's National Works, which operated until 1987, and Camp-Hill Corp. has operated the plant since the late 1980s. U.S. Steel is keeping plans for the mill fairly quiet, but it will be interesting to see what develops.
