Industrial Heating'smonthly economic indicators for February 2011 showed growth for the third consecutive month. All four indices, however, declined from January. The change in the number of request for quotes and the change in backlog were both over 50 for the fifth straight month. February’s index numbers:
  • Change in number of request for quotes from December to January – 52.9
  • Change in number of orders from December to January – 51.9
  • Change in backlog from December to January – 51.2
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through February – 51.7
February 2011’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their January 2011 business levels to their December 2010 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
