SKF Investing in New York Facility
As reported byIndustrial Heatingin December, SKF Aeroengine is investing almost $18 million in a new heat-treat facility in Falconer, N.Y. As part of the investment, the company will install a new high-tech vacuum furnace that allows for a heat-treatment process, which involves vacuum carburizing and vacuum hardening, for Pyrowear 675. According to SKF, the facility and technology will permit the company to process parts for four aero-bearing operations in the U.S. as well as for a joint venture with GE. The new facility will help SKF retain all 691 positions in Falconer.
