Ipsen, Inc. installed a low-pressure vacuum carburizing furnace (AvaC™ - acetylene vacuum carburizing) with 2-bar gas and oil quench, a workspace of 36 inches wide x 48 inches long x 36 inches high and a workspace capacity of 2,400 pounds. The furnace is equipped with an automatic, internal workload transfer system for vertical and horizontal drive motions. The large-capacity oil-quench chamber includes agitation, directional-flow baffles and electric heat.
Burton Industries is a commercial heat-treating company based in North Babylon, N.Y. The company added this new Ipsen AvaC unit to its existing line of vacuum furnaces, which are used to heat treat components for the aerospace and medical industries.
