Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for November were a mixed bag of results. The change in backlog and the expected change in the health of the industry both improved from October and were at their highest levels since May. The change in the number of orders, however, was under 50 and at its lowest point since August 2009. The change in the number of requests showed growth for the 16th time over the past 17 months. November’s index numbers:
  • Change in number of request for quotes from September to October – 51.6
  • Change in number of orders from September to October – 48.7
  • Change in backlog from September to October – 54.5
  • Expected change in the health of the industry through November – 54.0
November 2010’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their October 2010 business levels to their September 2010 levels. A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth.
