Nitrex Metal Inc. received an order from China’s Shaoguan Hongda Gear Co. Ltd. (SG), a manufacturer of transmission components, for a turnkey nitriding system. The NX-1015, complete with Nitreg® technology, will ensure both accuracy and repeatability of results and is fully qualified to maintain the dimensional stability of ring gears during nitriding. The new system will have the capacity to process more than 300 tons of gears annually and is expected to start up in December.

SG chose Nitreg, which is a zero distortion process, to ensure supplier compliance to the nitriding process approved by the North American manufacturer of off-road vehicles for whom the gears are being produced. Nitrex has over 250 installations in plants worldwide and has licensed its technology to heat-treating companies all over the globe.
