Thermal Technology shipped a 10-ton laboratory hot press to a customer in Eurasia. The equipment will be used for research and development applications at an educational institution. The customized hot press has a graphite hot zone rated to 2300°C, inert gas capability and a diffusion-pumped vacuum system. The system includes upgraded force and atmosphere controls, which provide the customer with unique processing capabilities leading to new material development possibilities.

Thermal Technology’s hot press systems are designed for the simultaneous application of high temperature and high pressures. Primary applications include densification of powdered materials, diffusion bonding of solid components and processing of fibrous composites.
