SECO/WARWICK Allied commissioned a 7-base hydrogen-atmosphere annealing installation with an annual capacity of 98,000 million tons for Corpacero’s Barranquilla, Colombia (South America), facility. The order was received through CMI FPE, who supplied the rolling mill and galvanizing line. The scope of supply for the installation included four natural-gas-fired heating hoods, seven annealing bases, seven corrugated inner covers, three mist cooling hoods, a single common pressure-reducing station for utilities, and a complete PLC-based control and monitoring system.

The charge material for the annealing plant is cold-rolled strip coils of grade CQ/DQ/DDQ/EDDQ having an outer diameter of 2,000 mm and width of 1,250 mm. Each annealing base is designed for a maximum load of 108 million tons and a reference charge load of 86.4 million tons. The designed overall stack height is 5,300 mm for four coils per batch.
