Industrial Heating's monthly economic indicators for October 2005 dipped slightly from the previous month, but an increase in the Expected Change in the Health of Thermal Processing Industry index shows a brighter outlook for November. October 2005 index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their October business levels to September levels. October 2005 Index Numbers: Change in number of Request for Proposals from September to October: 55.5 Change in the Number of Orders from September to October: 53.6 Change in Backlog from September to October: 54.3 Expected Change in Health of Thermal Processing Industry through November: 56.6 A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, on the editorial page of the December issue of Industrial Heating.
