Commercial heat treater Therm-Tech of Waukesha has opened Therm-Tech of Colorado in Loveland. The company has leased 26,000 square feet in the northwest corner of the former Water-Pik building. Therm-Tech of Colorado currently employs seven people and plans to add more employees as it expands to three shifts, five days a week. According to Therm-Tech, northern Colorado is becoming a hot spot for the aerospace industry. The company plans to cater to that industry in the state and also pull aerospace business from Wyoming, Nebraska and Utah. Therm-Tech intends to host an open house in mid-September to showcase its heat-treating services.

Part of Therm-Tech's move into the aerospace arena is completing Nadcap standards certification for several processes, which is still about six months away. In the meantime, Therm-Tech's services for manufacturers of all types of products include processes for hardening and strengthening a range of metals from aluminum to steel.
