Schmetz recently delivered a large horizontally loading vacuum furnace. The furnace’s volume is almost 12 m3 and can be loaded up to a weight of 3,000 kg (6,614 pounds). It is designed for a special heat treatment with temperatures up to 1350°C (2462°F) and has a heating power of 700 kW. An automatic loading machine, which was the scope of the delivery, carries out the loading and unloading. Several special trucks were needed for the furnace’s transport, as its largest section had a total shipping weight of 80,000 kg (176,370 pounds).
