Austria-based Eisenwerk Sulzau-Werfen (ESW) purchased Cecil, Pa.-based Miller Centrifugal Casting Co. (MCC). MCC, which produces steel mill sleeves used in the production of long products, will add to ESW’s market position and product portfolio. A leading producer of high-quality, vertically cast centrifugal castings, MCC is also North America’s number-one producer of large gear blanks, which are typically used in the power-generation, metal, mining and construction-equipment markets. MCC will continue to operate under its current name, and the company reports there are no plans to eliminate any of its 47 jobs.

Originally founded in 1770, ESW is a leading producer of high-quality rolls for the steel industry (hot rolling mills for flat rolled products) and currently exports to more than 50 countries. Headquartered in Tenneck, Austria, ESW is a privately held, ISO 9001-certified iron foundry. Additional capital investment by ESW is anticipated at MCC as well as the creation of new jobs.
