Bricmont Inc. of Canonsburg, Pa., received a multimillion-dollar contract from Bhuvee Profiles and Stainless Pvt. Ltd. to supply a 160-metric-ton/hour walking-beam furnace for the company’s mill in Angul, India. Bricmont, an Inductotherm Group company, will also supply Level 1 and 2 control, slab charging and slab discharging equipment. The new furnace will heat both carbon steel and stainless steel slabs to quality and emissions standards.
Bricmont also received a contract from India’s Ispat Industries to convert the company’s existing tunnel furnaces to dual-fuel capability. The fully automated system will allow Ispat to utilize either LNG and/or light fuel oil depending on availability and cost.
