Ipsen, Inc. shipped a new HR58x48 2-bar nitrogen-quench MetalMaster® horizontal vacuum furnace to Kaori Heat Treatment Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of plate heat exchangers and related components. The new MetalMaster has a work-zone size of 42 inches x 36 inches x 48 inches with a gross load weight capability of 2,500 pounds at 2400ºF. The furnace features an energy-efficient graphite hot zone consisting of 1-inch graphite board with a 0.015-inch bonded GRAFOIL® hot face and 1-inch graphite-felt thermal insulation.
The insulation pack is housed in a carbon-steel gas-distribution plenum for uniform gas distribution into the workload. The unit is designed and engineered to meet AMS 2750D code requirements. Kaori Heat Treatment has locations in Taiwan area and mainland China. Ipsen maintains manufacturing plants in Rockford, Ill.; Souderton, Pa.; Kleve, Germany; Calcutta, India; Kyoto, Japan; and Shanghai, China.
