Precision Castparts Corp. agreed to acquire Dickson Testing Co. and Aerocraft Heat Treating Co. South Gate, Calif.-based Dickson offers a full range of destructive testing services, including mechanical properties, metallurgical and chemical analyses, and low-cycle fatigue testing. Paramount, Calif.-based Aerocraft provides precision heat-treating services for titanium and nickel-alloy forgings and castings used in the aerospace industry as well as related services such as straightening and forming.

The transactions are expected to be completed during the first quarter of fiscal 2013, after which their results will be reported as part of the Forged Products segment. According to PCC, the two businesses are essential service providers to the aerospace industry, including many of its manufacturing operations. Acquiring these assets enables Portland, Ore.-based PCC to integrate and expand its capabilities both within its own facilities and with its aerospace customers.
